EBF Puts Away Mustangs in 4th Quarter


In the regular-season finale, the Davis County offense was shut out in the second half and EBF was able to rely on their ground game to beat the Mustangs in Bloomfield 36-12.

Both teams scored on their first two drives of the game. Davis County scored on a two-yard touchdown run by quarterback Carson Maeder and an eight-yard touchdown pass from Maeder to Easton White. EBF’s touchdowns were scored on touchdown runs by Ethan Olivas and Thane Alexander. The Rockets made both extra points and held a 14-12 lead in the second quarter.

A Carson Maeder interception deep in Davis County territory set up EBF’s next score. Blake Jager ran for a seven-yard touchdown to extend their lead to 21-12.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Davis County offense was able to make it to the the EBF 22 but a couple of penalties denied the Mustangs a chance to score early in the fourth quarter.

That turned out of be the Mustangs’ best chance as EBF got into the endzone on their next two drives to pull away.

Carson Maeder threw for 158 yards with one touchdown, an interception, and a touchdown run.

Easton White, who entered the game without a catch on the season, caught five passes for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Both Davis County and EBF finish the regular season at 3-3. The Mustangs, Rockets, and the rest of Iowa will find out their first playoff opponent around noon on Saturday.
