A graduate of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School was named the 2019 Iowa State Fair queen Saturday.

18 year-old Hannah Koellner of Eddyville was chosen among 102 participants, who were all winners of their respective county fairs. Koellner was crowned the queen of the Southern Iowa State Fair in July.

Koellner, the 56th Iowa State Fair queen, is the daughter of Jim and Kim Koellner. For being the new Iowa State Fair queen, Hannah receives the following to go along with her crown, sash, and trophy:

  • a $600 gift card to Jordan Creek Mall
  • a pair of diamond earrings from B. Shannon Designs
  • cowboy boots from Long Creek Outfitters
  • an Iowa State Fair Brick from the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation

Koellner plans on attending William Penn University in the fall with a major in elementary education and minors in business, reading, and special education.
