Diversity Conference

OTTUMWA — The 11th annual Diversity Conference will take place on the Indian Hills Community College Ottumwa campus on Friday, Mar. 20, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The day will include two keynote speakers and very interesting breakout sessions for the attendees.

The opening keynote will be Michael Kutcher, the twin brother of celebrity Ashton Kutcher.  Michael will share his inspirational story of the multiple obstacles that life has thrown at him, including living with cerebral palsy.  He is proof that ambition, perseverance and a positive attitude can overcome even the most incredible obstacles.

Kevin Brown, a young man who faced unimaginable challenges growing up in Detroit, will be the afternoon keynote.  After serving time in prison, Brown used education to turn his life around, proving that all dreams are obtainable.

In addition to presentations by Kutcher and Brown, the day will include three 60-minute breakout sessions, with each of those sessions offering nine topics to choose from.

The registration fee for the conference is $35 for online registration through Mar. 17, after which it increases to $40.  Student registration fee is $10.  Lunch is included in all registrations.  For more information or to register online, go to www.indianhills.edu/diversity.
