Des Moines Man in Jail After Dispute in Oskaloosa

An altercation between two individuals in Oskaloosa resulted in the arrest of a Des Moines man.

On Tuesday afternoon, Oskaloosa police officers were called to respond to a verbal confrontation between two males. It was also brought to the authorities’ attention that the disagreement escalated to a point in which a handgun was involved.

It was determined that 19 year old William Graves of Des Moines was responsible for the assault with the handgun. Graves was arrested and transported to the Mahaska County Jail where he was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. No one was injured in this incident.

Assault with a dangerous weapon is an aggravated misdemeanor which is punishable by up to two years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine.
