DC Bats Awaken, Hill Dominant in Mustangs’ First Win

After a winless opening week, Davis County bounced back Monday night with a 10 hit effort at Clarke. The resurgent bats and a strong start from Caden Hill propelled the Mustangs to an 11-2 win.

Hill pitched six strong innings while allowing two runs (both unearned) on one hit. He walked one and struck out 10.

A four-run 2nd inning by the Mustangs opened the scoring. Davis County kept up the pressure throughout the game, scoring in every inning except the 1st and 7th. Three Mustangs had a multi-hit game.

The win improves Davis County’s record to 1-3, 1-1 in South Central Conference play. The Mustangs will be back in conference play Tuesday night when they play host to Albia.
