29-year-old Steve Dante Smith and 19-year-old Natasha Ulin, both of Danville, have been charged with enticing a minor, a Class C felony.

Ottumwa police say Smith and Ulin both messaged the 13-year-old victim on April 1st and encouraged her to meet with them for sex.

Authorities say Smith and Ulin were aware of the victim’s age.

Smith and Ulin were arrested and both are currently in the Wapello County Jail with a bond hearing pending.

Smith has also been charged with assault with intent to inflict serious injury in a separate case.

According to the criminal complaint, Smith and an accomplice got out of a van and attacked another man who sustained injuries to his face, nose, and top of his head in the assualt. The incident allegedly occurred on March 27th, 2021 on the 500 block of Clinton Avenue in Ottumwa.
