Cynthia Ann Shepherd Ritz, 68, of Ottumwa, died at 4:08 a.m. January 14, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa.
She was born January 13, 1955 in Ottumwa to Gerald and Iona Hornick Shepherd.
A 1973 graduate of Ottumwa High School, she earned her RN from Indian Hills Community College. She worked as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Ottumwa Regional Health Center and for Wapello County Public Health.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation.
Surviving are two sons, John (Sarah) Ritz and Justin Ritz; a brother, Tom (Judy) Shepherd; 2 grandchildren, Aquila and Tirzah Ritz; two nieces, Amanda (Eric) Roberts and Hilary (Jeff) Fenton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 21st at Reece Funeral Home with Fr. Dale Mallory officiating. The service will be streamed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Visitation with her family present to greet friends will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
