Courthouse to be Closed for Training

By Ellis Codjoe, April 11, 2018

The Wapello County Courthouse will be closed next Tuesday morning from 8 until 10 for active shooter training or ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate). This will be the first time for many of the county employees that they have taken active shooter training but as Wapello County Jerry Parker explains, “If we had it (ALICE training) several years ago, we would need it again because the thinking has changed on what you should do when there’s an active shooter.”

The training will be led by Wapello County Sheriff Mark Miller. Employees will watch a video and listen to additional instructions from Sheriff Miller. There will be no active training.
