County Attorney Republican Candidate Earns Another Endorsement

By Aaryn Frazier, September 17, 2018

Reuben Neff, the Republican candidate for County Attorney, has been officially endorsed by the Ottumwa Police Department Union.

A press release from the Teamsters Local 238 said the following:

Teamsters Local 238 representing the Ottumwa Police Officers Union is proud to publicly endorse and support Reuben Neff in his                candidacy to become the next Wapello County Attorney.

We are confident Neff will seek higher accountability of those persons in the criminal justice system and better represent the                        expectations of the community.

Neff has proven time and again to us (the Ottumwa Police Officers) his passion and desire to do the job thoroughly and with                        conviction.

We look forward to the County Attorney’s office moving in a new direction under Neff’s leadership.

Neff has been backed by a majority of the local community regardless of political affiliation. He told Ottumwa Radio he is incredibly proud that the Teamster Local 238 Ottumwa Police Officers Union agree that he will best serve Wapello County at the County Attorney’s Office.

“Regardless of the fact that the Teamsters Local 238, even the law enforcement branch, lean heavily towards the Democratic Party and I am the Republican candidate, they recognize that I am the best candidate to seek justice on behalf of Wapello County’s people,” said Neff.

The County Attorney election along with other offices will hold elections on November 6. But there will be early elections in late October.
