Even though it is election night, the Ottumwa City Council will hold a regular session, Tuesday evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers of Ottumwa City Hall. The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast on Cable Channel 6 GO-TV, and streamed live on the internet.
It is likely to be a short agenda for the Council because of the elections. The Council is expected to approve changing parts of Ottumwa’s Nuisance Ordinance, and prohibiting vehicle parking on the grassy areas of front yards of residential property. Also, the Council will likely approve a change in the height of grass and weeds from the current 12 inches to 10 inches.
These recommendations are from the Make Ottumwa Shine Committee along with the Ottumwa Health Department.
The Council will also hold a public hearing on an application for CDBG funds to do water and sewer system improvements on Davis Street from Mary Street to Williams Street.
