Corydon Man Seriously Injured in Accident

A Corydon man driving a golf cart sustained serious injuries in a Sunday afternoon accident in a Wayne County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 77-year-old James Goodell was traveling southbound on Highway 14 south of Watrous. A Ford Focus driven by 30-year-old Tera Ostermeyer of Oskaloosa was traveling in the same direction.

The golf cart was on the travel portion and was traveling at a slower rate of speed. The Ford Focus drove over a hill and encountered the golf cart. The Iowa State Patrol says Ostermeyer attempted to brake but could not stop in time and the Focus wound up striking the rear of the golf cart.

Goodell was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. His current condition is unknown.
