A project has been awarded to replace the bridge on Ward Street over the Jefferson Drainage Ditch.
According to a press release from the city, the bridge on Ward street is set to be replaced with twin 10′ x 6′ box culverts. The contractor will begin mobilizing to the jobsite on Monday, August 10. By Wednesday, August 12, Ward Street and Harrod Avenue will be closed to traffic. Alternate crossings of the Jefferson Drainage Ditch for north-south traffic are open on Ray Street and Ransom Street, while east-west traffic may use either Mary Street or Loomis Avenue. The construction is expected to take roughly two months.
