The Ottumwa City Council took up a fairly light agenda during a special meeting Monday afternoon at City Hall.
The Council approved a resolution approving the creation of a city zoning task force as a temporary city committee and specifically approving team volunteers.
The council previously approved a Consulting Services Agreement with RDG Incorporated to assist the city in a zoning code rewrite. However it was recommended to the council by staff and the consulting company that a temporary task force be created. The task force would exist as long as it is needed to assist with rewriting the city’s zoning code.
Also during last night’s meeting, the approved a recommendation setting October 7th as the date and time for a public hearing on plans, specifications and form of contract for the Beach Ottumwa.
The project will include replacing the facilities HVAC system and replace of an air conditioning unit. The systems have not work for a number of years. The work is expected to be done next spring.
