City Announces Thanksgiving Closures

The City of Ottumwa has announced the closings and changed hours of operation for the Thanksgiving holiday.

According to a press release from City Hall, the following closings and hours of operation changes for the 2021 Thanksgiving holiday week:

  • City departments and offices at City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 25 & 26.
  • Though weekly curbside trash and recycling collection dates inside city limits are not affected,
    rural trash and recycling customers normally collected Thursdays will be collected on Tuesday, November
    23, the week of Thanksgiving.
  • Thursday yard waste and bulky item collection (north of the River) will be moved up to
    Tuesday, November 23, the week of the holiday only. Customers needing yard waste pick-up/bulky item pick
    up need to call in before 3 P.M. on Monday, November 22 for collection that week.
  • The Ottumwa/Wapello Landfill and Recycling Center will be closed Thursday, November 25. The Landfill
    and Recycling Center will be open regular hours Friday, November 26 (7 A.M. to 4 P.M.) and Saturday the 27
    (7 A.M. to Noon).
  • The Ottumwa, Calvary and Jewish Cemetery office at 1302 N. Court will be closed Thursday, November 25
    and Friday, November 26.
  • The Ottumwa Public Library will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 25 and 26. The Library will be
    open regular hours, 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday.
  • Ottumwa Water and Hydro Offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 25 and 26.
  • The Beach Ottumwa will be closed on Thursday, November 25. It will be open on Friday, November 26 for
    lap swim 5:30-10 A.M. and open swim 12:30-4 P.M.

Thank you all for what you do for all of us!! I wish you all had Friday off… maybe next year???
