The 2014 All-State softball teams announced this week by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union included 16 players from area schools. Ottumwa, Fairfield and Oskaloosa all placed three athletes on all-state rosters this year. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont counted two all-staters on its roster, while Albia, Cardinal, Moravia, Sigourney and Twin Cedars had one all-state player each.
