The number of residents in Appanoose County with COVID-19 has exceeded 50 after the latest report from health officials.
On Wednesday afternoon, Appanoose Public Health reported three new individuals have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The residents are a middle-aged adult female (age 41-60), a male adult (age 18-40), and a female adult. That brings the total number of positive cases to 52 in the county.
Health officials say the three residents are receiving appropriate medical care. Efforts are being made to find anyone who may have been in contact with the three positive individuals for notification purposes.
43 residents have recovered from the virus and there have been three deaths. The total number of active cases is six.
Apppanoose County Public Health encourages the public to continue to follow the guidelines provided by the Iowa Department of Public Health and local healthcare agencies.
