Another Knife Incident at Evans

By Ellis Codjoe, May 11, 2018

For the second time this week, an Evans Middle School student had a knife in their possession.

On Friday morning, a student was found with a knife and the parents were contacted. The student will be subject to discipline per the school policy.

In their statement, the Ottumwa Community School District sent a request to parents to remind students that taking any kind of weapon to school will result in consequences.

Ottumwa Radio News sought a comment from the Ottumwa Community School District and were referred to their statement which can be read on their website. They declined any other comment citing student confidentiality.

Calls to the Ottumwa Police Department for comment were not returned as of the writing of this article.
