Alliant Warns Customers of Scam

Alliant Energy is warning customers of scammers that may be attempting to contact them.

The power company says they have received reports from customers that scammers are calling and pretending to be Alliant Energy. The callers are threatening to cut off power unless they receive immediate payment.

Despite the fact that the calls may appear to come from Alliant Energy, the company emphasizes that they do not call customers to demand immediate payment. Additionally, Alliant says they do not request customers to purchase prepaid credit cards or ask for payment via email.

Alliant is telling customers to hang up if they receive such a call. Individuals curious about the status of their account can log on to Alliant Energy’s website or call 1-800-255-4268.
