A southeast Iowa man accused of inappropriate contact with a boy he treated has agreed to no longer practice as a chiropractor.
Bruce Lindberg, 62, faces a charge of assault. The boy’s family has also filed a lawsuit against Lindberg.
According to court documents, on February 16, the ten-year-old child was accompanying an adult friend to Lindberg’s practice. Lindberg allegedly took the boy to a separate room, told him to take off his shirt, and massaged the boy’s back with lotion. Afterward, Lindberg hugged the child and kissed the top of his head.
As first reported by KCRG, the agreement between Lindberg and the Iowa Board of Chiropractic states that Lindberg forgoing his license is not an admission of guilt but is a voluntary decision that meets “the Board’s interest in protecting the public.”
Lindberg has a pre-trial conference scheduled for Thursday morning. The lawsuit filed against him is pending.
