OTTUMWA, IA – Ottumwa HyVee’s: North HyVee on Court Street, South HyVee on Quincy Avenue and Drugstore on the corner of Pennsylvania and Jefferson, along with Ottumwa Radio Group, want to congratulate the Indian Hills women’s cross country team, our 97.7 KOTM-FM Team of the Week!
The Warriors captured their best finish in program history at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) D1 Cross Country Championship Saturday at Pole Green Park in Richmond, Virginia, placing 15th overall. Freshmen Emily Casterline and former Davis County Mustang Morgan Klaus anchored the Warriors by finishing back-to-back: Casterline 78th overall with a time of 21:08.4, and Klaus 79th at 21:10.6. Former Ottumwa Bulldog, Monse Chapula, placed 87th with a time of 21:24.2; Isabelle Mellin finished 93rd with a time of 21:43.1; Lizeth Flores rounded out the scoring with a time of 21:53.9. Former Cardinal Comet Alexia McClure and Katie Donaldson competed for the Warriors as well and placed 106th and 114th, respectively.
