Lois J. White, 92, of Ottumwa, died at 7 a.m. October 1, 2024 at Sylvan Woods.
She was born June 10, 1932 in Batavia to Harold and Myrtle Snyder Handy. Lois married Clarence “Skeeter” White June 10, 1952 and he preceded her in death May 7, 2023.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, Lois had been a resident of Ottumwa all of her life. She had worked at Payless Shoes for many years. Lois enjoyed sewing and spending time with family, especially her grandkids.
Surviving are her children, Steve (Karen) White of Bonita Springs, FL, Sandy White of Ottumwa, Gary White of Des Moines; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great- grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Glen Handy and Arlene Capell.
Visitation will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, October 3rd at Reece Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 4th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
