The American Gothic Performing Arts Festival (AGPAF) is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated 2025 season, running from June 6 to June 29, 2025.

The 13th season of the festival will once again showcase an exciting mix of theatrical performances, concerts, and events, drawing talented guest artists from across the nation alongside remarkable regional talent.

The 2025 season lineup includes:
 Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street: Stephen Sondheim’s dark and thrilling tale of vengeance and pie-making takes center stage in this powerful concert rendition.
 Lend Me a Tenor: This hilarious, Tony Award-winning farce by Ken Ludwig promises uproarious laughter as mistaken identities and miscommunication unfold in a night of high-energy antics.
 Annie: The beloved family musical returns to the stage, sharing the heartwarming story of everyone’s favorite orphan and her journey to find a family.
 To Be Heard: Shadows in America: This captivating concert features the festival orchestra in evocative orchestral works that explore the themes of resilience, hardship, and hope in America’s social landscape.

Performances will take place at the Temple of Creative Arts and Bridge View Center, offering audiences dynamic settings to enjoy this stellar lineup.

The festival will kick off with the annual Arts Gala on May 29, 2025, a much-anticipated celebration of arts and culture in Ottumwa.

“We are excited to present another extraordinary season of performances that reflect the festival’s commitment to artistic excellence,” said Executive Artistic Director Dennis Willhoit. “This year’s program combines the magic of timeless musicals, the laughter of farce, and
thought-provoking orchestral works, promising something for everyone.”

In 2024, the festival welcomed over 40 guest artists and production personnel from across the country, bringing a burst of creativity and cultural energy to the Ottumwa area. Last season, the festival had a total economic impact of $312,705 on the community, bolstering local
businesses and attracting audiences from near and far.

As one of the region’s most vibrant summer events, the American Gothic Performing Arts Festival continues to be a cultural cornerstone, providing a platform for diverse artistic expression and enriching the Ottumwa community.
