Mary Lou Terrell, 70, of Eldon, died at 10:50 p.m. September 5, 2024 under hospice care at her home.
She was born July 28, 1954 in Missouri to Marvin Charles and Doris Yvonne Surber Bitner. She married Steven Terrell November 2, 1979.
A graduate of Eddyville High School, she earned her associate’s degree in drafting from Indian Hills Community College in Centerville. She worked for Black & Veach Drafting Co. in Overland Park KS. Returning to Iowa, she worked at Goodwill in Knoxville, Big Smith Overall Factory in Oskaloosa, Delong Sportswear in Albia and JC Penney in Ottumwa.
She had attended the Kirkville and Eddyville United Methodist Churches.
Surviving is her husband, Steve; a son, Steven Terrell Jr. of Eldon; two grandchildren, Jeana (Adam) Johnson of Eldon and Adam (Emily) Akers of Eddyville; two sisters, Nancy (Duane) Akers of Eddyville and Kathy Dommer of Eldon; sisters-in-law, Sue (Bill) Husted of Oskaloosa and Cheryl Terrell of Des Moines; and brother-in-law, Bryan Lovell of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Doris and Abe Camper; her father and step-mother, Marvin and Evelyn Jean Bitner.
Her body has been cremated and services are not planned.
