A South Carolina felon was arrested after found unconscious in the drivers seat of a semi, according to the Oskaloosa Police Department.
Cornelius McLeod of North Carolina was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), possession of drug paraphernalia, and felon in control of a firearm.
On August 16 at 2:49 p.m, the Oskaloosa Police Department says deputies responded to a semi-truck blocking the intersection of A Avenue and Market Street. Authorities observed McLeod slumped in the drivers seat and unconscious. According to officials, McLeod showed signs of impairment on the standardized field sobriety test.
McLeod was transported to the Mahaska County Jail. He has an $8,000 bond and a preliminary hearing on August 28. Additionally, his truck was impounded.
