An Ottumwa woman is accused of attacking her spouse with a hammer after damaging the latter’s motorcycles.
28-year-old Devin Young has been charged with going armed with intent and domestic abuse assault.
According to court records, Young was armed with a large hammer when she extensively damaged the victim’s motorcycles on October 2nd. The incident occurred at a residence on South Willard Street.
Police say Young followed the victim who was fleeing to another residence. Young charged at the victim and struck the victim with the hammer. Court documents say Young is married to the victim and the couple share four children.
Young was arrested and transported to the Wapello County Jail. She is currently free after posting a $7,000 bond. Young has been ordered to not have any contact with the victim.
