Trailing 6-2 in the fourth inning, Davis County’s bats came to life as the Mustangs scored seven unanswered runs to beat Mount Pleasant 9-6 Wednesday night.

The win was the 300th in the illustrious career of Davis County head coach Todd White. His team celebrated the occasion by dousing him with the contents of a water cooler after the victory.

Dawson Townsend and Carson Maeder each had three hits as the Mustangs recorded 11 hits total, their most in a game since a May 27th win at Clarke.

Davis County tied the score at six in the fourth inning thanks to RBI doubles from Maeder and Caedyn Glosser and an RBI triple from Townsend.

Aidan Fowler scored on a fielding error to break the tie in the fifth inning. Dalton Reeves added a two-run single later in the inning to pad the Mustang lead.

The Mustang rally made a winner of Presley Cantrell who pitched 5.1 innings in relief. Cantrell allowed one run on six hits. He walked a batter and struck out six.

Davis County (13-8) will be hosting Clarke Thursday on Senior Night.
