Comets use big third inning to down the Warriors

(Written by Dawson Greene) The Lady Comets took on the Van Buren County Warriors on May 31st with their game being pushed up to 5:30 in order to dodge rain. The Comets and Warrior’s made this game look like it was going to be a low scoring contest with both teams being scoreless after 2 innings. In the top of the 3rd, the Comets had 9 consecutive hits, scored 8 runs and kept the runs coming. The Comets got the win 11-0 after 5 innings. Player of the game honors go to Nicoa McClure, she went 1-3 at the plate with her one hit being a 3 run home run and also threw a shutout with only 3 hits allowed. The Comets advance to 4-1 on the season and will be playing the Davis County Mustangs on June 1st. Go Comets!
