Warriors surge late to score conference win over the Comets

The Warriors got back on track with a 4-2 win over the Cardinal Comets to even their conference record to 1-1

The Warrior starter Taylor Sprouse started by tossing a scoreless top of the first with two strikeouts. The Warriors offense got a quick run on the board in the bottom half of the inning when Bailey Roen lead off the game with a base hit, then stole second and two passed balls allowed him to score. Sprouse went back to work in the second and worked around an error and kept the Comets off the scoreboard. Over the next couple innings both Sprouse and Comet starter Tatem Telfer would shine. Neither allowed a run and both stranded multiple runners in scoring position. After four the game would see the Warriors leading 1-0. The Comets would finally crack the scoreboard thanks to a RBI single from Landon Becker that scored Tristin Cloke. The Warriors did not score in the bottom half of the inning as the game would go into the sixth tied at 1. Sprouse would again strand another Comet to keep the game tied going into the bottom of the sixth. The bottom of the inning saw the Warriors break though. The Warriors would score three runs from Izaak Loeffler, Owen Loeffler and a wild pitch. For Izaak he would knock in what would be the game winning run. As the Warriors lead 4-1 going to the top of the seventh. Sporuse would retire two batters before Lucas Fett came in and closed the door with the tying run at first base. The Warriors won 4-2

The Warriors improved to 3-5, 1-1 while the Comets fell to 2-2, 2-2. Up next for the Warriors they travel to Central Lee Thursday a game that can be heard on KTWA and the Comets play host to Davis County a game that can be heard on KRKN

Warrior leaders: Taylor Sprouse-6.2IP, 8K, 1BB, 7H, 2R and 1/2 at the plate with a single, a walk and a run scored. Izaak Loeffler as single, RBI, and a run scored, Owen Loeffler a single and RBI, Jackson Manning a run scored, a single and a walk; and Bailey Roen single, stolen base and a run scored.
