Warriors get shut out by Bloodhounds

The Van Buren County Warriors fell in non-conference play to the Fort Madison Bloodhounds 17-0 in four innings

The Bloodhounds took advantage of two walks in a row in the top of the first to take a 2-0 lead after one inning. The Bloodhounds would have a big inning in the second. In an inning that took 18 minutes and saw 13 batters come to the plate the Bloodhounds blew the game open. The Bloodhounds would score nine runs in the inning, collecting five hits and two walks. The inning was highlighted by a Kane Williams 3 RBI triple, as the Bloodhounds would lead 11-0 after two innings. The Bloodhounds would add three runs in both the third and fourth innings to go on to win 17-0. In the third, the Bloodhounds collected RBI’s from two walks and a hit by pitch.

The win moves the Bloodhounds to a 2-0 record, and the Warriors fall to 1-4. Up next for the Warriors they go back in conference play as they host West Burlington on Thursday night. The game slated to start at 7pm a broadcast you can catch on KTWA 92.7FM

JV final was Fort Madison defeating Van Buren County 8-6, the Warriors JV team now 2-3. The Warriors JV team won 6-0 in three innings last night over Pekin.
