A Tuesday night shooting near Iowa Wesleyan University caused the campus to shelter in place as authorities continue to investigate.
According to the school, the Mount Pleasant Police Department received a report of shots being fired near the college campus. While Iowa Wesleyan sheltered in place, law enforcement searched on or near the campus. Two suspects were taken into custody.
Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public and the investigation is ongoing.
The Mount Pleasant Community School District announced classes would be canceled for Wednesday.
A statement is expected from the Mount Pleasant Police Department later Wednesday morning.
