Myrintha M. Dailey, 94, of Ottumwa, passed away April 19, 2022 at Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa.

Myrintha was born October 11, 1927 in Belknap, Iowa to John and Marie McCarroll Whitmore. She married Floyd H. Dailey on November 6, 1948 in Des Moines and he preceded her in death August 13, 2020.

A graduate of Packwood High School and Iowa Success Business College in Ottumwa, Myrintha spent her working career as a professional bookkeeper at several companies including Wapello Dairy and McCune & Reed Insurance Agency.

Myrintha was a member of Pennsylvania Ave. Free Methodist Church. She lived a full life and enjoyed traveling the U.S. with Floyd in their RV, wintering in Panama City Beach, FL and Yuma, AZ. Her favorite hobby was walking their Florida beaches hunting for sea shells.
Surviving is her daughter, Joleen Fitzgerald (Harald) of Laguna Woods, CA; her son, Randy (Sue) Dailey of Ottumwa; 2 grandchildren, Greg (Vickie) Dickinson and Angela Dickinson; 3 great-grandchildren, Brandi, Dylan and Cayden; her sister, Margaret Cary; and brothers, Marvin (Tillie), Melvin (Judith) and Mike (Sue) Whitmore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Calvin Whitmore and a brother-in-law, Charles Cary.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 22nd at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. For those unable to attend the service, it may be viewed on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. Private burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Prairie Hills Assisted Living, Vista Woods Care Center and Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties for their professional and loving care of our dear Mother.
