Marjorie Seymour, 89, of Oskaloosa, died Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the Mahaska Health Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.

Marjorie Irene Seymour, daughter of Robert and Zelda (Roland) Van Fleet, was born May 29, 1932, in Sigourney, Iowa. She grew up in Sigourney and later Rose Hill. She was a 1950 graduate of Rose Hill High School and married Omer Wickenkamp in 1951. They raised their family on a farm near Rose Hill, and when she wasn’t caring for her children, she assisted her husband with the farming. Marjorie was gifted musically, and for several years she played the accordion and piano in a band, The Wickenkamp Brothers. Omer passed away suddenly in 1967. After his death, Marjorie worked for Kingsbury Homes for three years. In 1970, she married Theron “Ted” Seymour; they lived near LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Marjorie was an excellent cook; she worked in several restaurants near LaCrosse while they lived in Wisconsin. After Ted died in 2002, Marjorie moved back to Oskaloosa to be near her family.

Marjorie is survived by her children: Anita Armstrong and her husband, Rick Morris of Oskaloosa; Michael (Peggy) Wickenkamp of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; and Larry Wickenkamp, also of LaCrosse; two grandchildren: Molly Armstrong of Oskaloosa and Brandon Wickenkamp of New York; and two great-grandchildren: Finn and Daisy Mohr.

In addition to her parents and both of her husbands, Marjorie was preceded in death by two sons: Edward and John in infancy, and one brother, Keith Van Fleet.

Funeral Services for Marjorie will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2022, at St. Peter and Paul Clear Creek Cemetery near Sigourney. The visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., Saturday at Langkamp Funeral Chapel. A procession will leave the funeral chapel at 10:15 a.m. Langkamp Funeral Chapel is handling Marjorie’s final arrangements.
