Everett “Ralph” Lowe passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Visitation for family and friends will be on 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Behner Funeral Home with the celebration of life following starting at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus.  Cards and memorials may be sent to Dave Glassford, 65 Leisure Blvd. N.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402.

Ralph was born on February 26, 1942, in rural Wayne County, near the town of Millerton to Harry and Pearl Bahr Lowe.  The family moved to Chariton in 1944.  He attended and graduated from Chariton High School in 1960.  He attended Stout University in Wisconsin and studied for a Liberal Arts Degree.

He married in 1964 and to this union three sons and one daughter were born.  The couple later divorced.  He remarried to Sheri Glassford in 1992.  Ralph worked as a contractor for Dixon Construction.  He worked for Circle B Lumber Yard in Indianola.  After moving to Fairfield in 1988, he worked for Midwest Airgas both in Fairfield and in Kansas City.  He also worked as a maintenance man for H&H Mold and Tool prior to his retirement.

Ralph belonged to many social organizations but was most active in the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.  He served numerous years as President of the Fairfield Club and served as State President from 1998-1999.  He was an avid pool player, golfer and fisherman.  He also was an accomplished woodworker, and was known to be able to fix anything.  He and his wife enjoyed dancing, especially waltzing.  Ralph earned many honors for his participation in Ritual work.  He was all-state Chaplain numerous times.  And was a member of the Hall of Fame.

Ralph is survived by three sons, Luke (Lisa) Lowe, Lee Lowe, Lance (Tiffany) Lowe; one daughter, Lorelea Lowe; one step-son, David (Kristin) Glassford; and many grandchildren.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Pearl; wife, Sheri; and his siblings.
