Brandon Cole Penrod, 26, of Ottumwa, died at 2:36 a.m. March 27, 2022 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Brandon was born May 7, 1995 in Ottumwa to Jeff and Mary Penrod.

A 2013 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he earned his welding certificate from Indian Hills Community College. He had worked at Winbco Tank.

Brandon grew up attending Hickory Grove Community Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing disc golf, video games and hanging out with his buddies. Brandon was a St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed attending the sprint car races at the Knoxville Raceway.

Surviving are his parents, Jeff and Mary Penrod of Ottumwa; a brother, Mike Penrod; 2 sisters, Kara Penrod and Tabitha Armstrong; several nieces and nephews; grandmothers, Connie Bevins and Wanda Penrod; aunts and uncles, Mark Penrod, Candace Acord-Penrod, LaVon and Chuck Seeley, Hope and Randy Regennitter; Tom and Diane Bevins, Tim and Tasha Bevins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert Bevins, Clifford Penrod, Judi Wheeling and Charles Wheeling.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 29th, at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 30th, at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Marthana Newland officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery near Highland Center.
