OTTUMWA, IA – Josh, Brenda, and the team at Meridian Credit Union in Ottumwa, along with Ottumwa Radio Group, want to congratulate Indian Hills track athlete Aliyah Simmons, our 101.5 KKSI-FM Athlete of the Week!
The sophomore became the first woman in IHCC track & field history to win an individual national title earning a first place finish in the 800 Meter Run at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championships last weekend in Pittsburg, Kansas. Simmons ran a personal best, and school record, time of 2:10.55 in the event. For her efforts throughout the year, she was also named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Regional Female Track Athlete of the Year.
