Two Construction Projects Kick Off Next Week

By Nick Davis, August 23, 2017

The City of Ottumwa has two projects scheduled to begin on Monday August 28th.  K&A Excavating will begin reconstructing Osage Drive between Oak Meadow Drive and Pawnee Drive, and Iowa Bridge and Culvert will begin replacing the bridge on Ray Street over the Jefferson Drainage Ditch.

The full depth full width reconstruction of Osage Drive is scheduled to be completed around mid-October.  Access will be maintained to properties along Osage via a gravel drive from Oak Meadow.  The street will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project.

The bridge on Ray Street over the Jefferson Drainage Ditch will be replaced with twin 8’x6’ reinforced concrete box culverts.  Nobody will lose access to their properties while the street is closed for construction.  Work is scheduled to be complete by October 31st.
