On April 24, 2014 members of the Ottumwa Police Department arrested and charged Marquise LaMar Benson, age 27 and Tonya Donlynn Bosley age 38, both of 526 South Ward Street, Ottumwa, with two counts of False Reports.
The charges stem from an investigation initiated by the Ottumwa Police Department in July of 2013 after Benson and Bosley both reported two Ottumwa Police Officers while on duty broke into a garage at their residence and stole a motorcycle. The two subjects also reported officers caused damage to their residence.
During the investigation it was determined that a burglary had not been committed and the officers had not caused damage to their residence. The entire incident was captured on in-car camera video from the officer’s patrol vehicles.
False Reports is a serious misdemeanor. Both Benson and Bosley are being held in the Wapello County Jail on $2000 bond.
