Sheriff: New Permit to Carry Cards Have Arrived

By Nick Davis, January 11, 2018

The Wapello County sheriff’s office says that a new batch of state printed permit to carry cards has arrived in Wapello County.

From July 1st, 2017 through December, 2017, anyone who received a Permit to Carry in Wapello County was issued a temporary, paper permit.

The Sheriff’s office says in a public notice that they have now received the new Iowa Department of Public Safety issued weapons permit cards to replace those paper cards.

Those permit holders still in possession of a paper permit are encouraged to visit the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office during normal business hours: Monday-Friday between 8:00 and 4:30 in order to pick up their new card.

You will be expected to relinquish your paper permit to receive the new card. There will be no additional fees associated with the exchange.
