Robert Ehret

Robert Wayne Ehret, 60, of Eldon, IA passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at his home in Eldon.  As were Robert’s wishes his body had been cremated.  A time to celebrate his life and share stories with the family will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Eldon.  Memorial contributions in Robert’s honor may be directed to the family and sent to P.O. Robert Wayne Ehret was born November 27, 1957 in Dekalb, IL to Abraham and Mildred Carlton Ehret.  The family settled in Eldon where he attended the Cardinal Community School.  Robert was united in marriage to Becky Fisk on July 4, 1994 in Eldon, IA.  Robert had a love for the outdoors, which he shared with his two special grandson’s, Ethan and Logan Shultz.  He was an avid fisherman and boater, as well as an expert mushroom hunter.  His favorite times were spent surrounded by family at the cabin, especially during their annual fish fry.  He was proud to serve as Vice President of the Ehret Cabin River Rat Club.  He was a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and supported his favorite NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr.  Robert also enjoyed collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Chris Hanson and Billy Joe Ehret.

Left to share his story is his loving wife Becky Ehret of Eldon, IA, three children, Robert Ehret Jr. of Birmingham, IA, Kelly Ehret Putnam of Bonaparte, IA, and Krystle Shultz of Eldon, IA; seven grandchildren, Sunny Jane, Sydney, Karen Rae, Skyler, Mallory, Ethan, and Logan; three brothers, Allen Ehret of Arizona, Mike Ehret of Washington, IA,  Jack Ehret of Eldon, IA, and Cathy Fiedler of Agency, IA, as well as many extended family and friends.
