Patricia Vandello

Patricia Ann Vandello, 93, of Ottumwa, died June 4, 2018 at Vista Woods Care Center.

She was born February 5, 1925 in Ottumwa to Henry and Molly Morrison Blubaugh.  She married James E. Vandello on December 14, 1942 in Kirksville, MO and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2008.

Pat was a graduate of Ottumwa Heights Academy, and had been a bookkeeper for Max Furniture.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.  Pat enjoyed quilting.

Surviving are her children, Laura (Stan) Shaw of Omaha, NE, Margaret  Stribling of Eldon, Monica (Greg) Malott of New London, James “Pat” (Carol) Vandello of Denver, CO and Tom (Alice) Vandello of Ottumwa; grandchildren; Molly (Dennis) Callas, Michael (Lisa) Akers, Mary (Matt) Abels, Patricia (Tom) Dunn, Catherine (Joel) Brunkhorst, Stanley (Amy) Shaw Jr., Elizabeth Vandello, Abbie (Stan) Shaw, Margie (Aaron) Stone, Jennifer (Dennis) Rysdam, Nathan (Lara) Vandello, Danny  Vandello, Joshua Malott,  Joe (Lisa) Malott, Elizabeth (Aaron Curry) Malott; 37 great-grandchildren;

She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Frank Akers; a grandson, David Frank Akers; 2 great-grandsons, Dawson Thomas Vandello and Lucas James Vandello; a brother, James Blubaugh; sisters, Margaret Snook and Mary Jameson; son-in-law, Troy Huffman.

Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home.  The Rosary will be recited and a Christian Wake will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday followed by family visitation until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
