Other goals of the Legacy Foundation is reclamation of Main Street, the river front, improvements to the city’s sports campus and extending central park to the Des Moines River. Other priorities include upgrading and supporting the fiber optic network and creating new leaders through the Ottumwa Leadership academy.

Little told the City council since September of 2011 the Foundation has spent several million dollars including 1.3-million dollars for education. Little said the Foundation is working with two companies in hopes of bring them to Ottumwa.
