Ottumwa Housing Authority to receive funds from H.U.D.

Ottumwa – The Ottumwa Housing Authority will be the recipient of $377,884 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Capital Fund Program. The Capital Fund Program grant will be used to accomplish modernization and management improvement activities for its Public Housing units in Ottumwa. Activities to be accomplished during the next year will be focused on updating the elevators at Camelot Towers and replacement of stoves at Southoak Towers and Westgate Towers. The grant funding also allows for the continuation of the C.O.P.S. partnership with Ottumwa Police Department by contracting for the OHA officer in dealing with safety issues relating to families currently receiving housing assistance and screening of applicants.
