OHS Urges Students to Prepare for FAFSA

By Aaryn Frazier, September 13, 2018

To prepare for the first year of college next fall, Ottumwa High School is hosting a Financial Aid Informational Meeting on Wednesday, September 19.

Seniors and their families are invited to attend the meeting at 6 p.m. The meeting is in the Educational Opportunity Center in the OHS Library. Kim Hellige, the Ottumwa School community programs director, said this is an opportunity to learn more about applying for financial aid for the 2019-2020 school year.

The FAFSA opens October 1, please review your choice college’s priority deadline date so you do not miss out on any scholarship opportunities.

Students and/or parents new to the financial aid process will need to create a FSA ID prior to completing the FAFSA.  Visit https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/fsaid for more information.

Begin your FAFSA online at https://fafsa.ed.gov/.
