MARY LOWENBERG

OTTUMWA – Mary Lowenberg, 97, of Ottumwa , formerly of Hedrick, died October 14, 2017 at Oskaloosa Care Center.

She was born September 23, 1920 in Carbon in Adams County, IA to William and Beulah Bigham Buck.  She married Durward Leedom and he preceded her in death in September 6, 1972.  She married Warren Lowenberg June 28, 1974 and he preceded her in death February 24, 2015.

She worked at John Morrell and Co. from where she retired.  She then helped both of her husbands farm and along with her daughter, operated the Hedrick Café.

She was a member of North Court Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Pilcher of Dover, FL; a son-in-law, Jim Peden of Fremont; two step-sons, David (Mary) Lowenberg of Huntsville, MO and Randy (Diane) Lowenberg of Orrick, MO; 12 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren and a great-great grandson; two sisters, Margaret Millard of Agency and Elizabeth Gill of Council Bluffs.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Peden; a son, Bud Leedom; a grandson, Clint Leedom; four sisters, Helen Stonebreaker, Judy Lene, Irene Buck, Louella Dodge; five brothers, Bill, Donald, Charley, John and Robert Buck.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Hemmings officiating.  Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation will be open after 11 a.m. Tuesday with the family present one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Court Baptist Church.
