Local Authors to be Featured in Library Event

By Ellis Codjoe, October 10, 2017

The Ottumwa Public Library is pleased to announce that they will host an Indie Author Day event at the library on Saturday, October 14 at 10 am. This event is free and open to the public.

Nine local authors have confirmed their participation, including Leigh Michaels, Rachelle Chase, Tony Humeston, Elaine Orr, Elsie May Cofer, Doug Potter, Isaac Campbell, Jo’an Hennen, and Evan Clark. There will be two panel discussions with the participating authors and each author will have a table to display their books and speak with patrons and guests.  There will also be a fun contest for matching the different authors with covers to their works and a drawing will be held for a prize at the end.

This is an opportunity for the indie community to come together in the library to help local self-published and independent authors get discovered and for readers to find new books written by fellow community members. To learn more about Indie Author Day, visit
