Less than a month after Pleading Guilty to Sex acts with a Child, Ottumwa Man Faces Additional Charges

By Ellis Codjoe, May 18, 2017

An Ottumwa man who pleaded guilty to a charge of lascivious acts with a child is now facing additional charges.

Tryston Honeycutt-Blocker, 27, entered into a plea agreement last month with the Wapello County Attorney’s Office on charges of 2nd degree sexual abuse. He pleaded to a lesser charge of lascivious acts with a child and received a five year suspended prison sentence.

He found himself behind bars once again on Tuesday.

Police say the Ottumwa man kept a stash of child pornography on a hard drive. Court documents say he knowingly possessed hundreds of visual and video depictions of minors engaged in prohibited acts.

The new charges are aggravated misdemeanors, which can hold a maximum penalty of up to 2 years for each count. Blocker could face up to 38 years in prison if found guilty and given consecutive maximum sentences.

A charge is merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
