OTTUMWA-June Maxine Loy, 91, of Ottumwa, died at 5:10 p.m. April 13, 2017 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
She was born on June 9, 1925 in Albia to Lawrence Daniel and Opal Grace Shipley Clouse. She married Ernest Ellsworth Loy on October 12, 1947.
June was a 1943 graduate of Ottumwa High School and while in high school she worked for the Ottumwa Board of Education. She attended the Iowa Success Business College. June had worked in accounting for Barker’s Poultry and had worked for John Deere Ottumwa Works.
She was a member of Willard St. United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer, a member of Willard St. United Methodist Women, where she held several offices. She was an active member and past president of Jefferson School PTA.
Surviving is her husband, Ernest; her children, Greg (Karen) Loy of Ottumwa, Cindy (John) Shilling of Centerville and Jeff (Terry) Loy of Ottumwa; 6 grandsons, Aaron (Alisha) Loy of Williamsburg, Adam (Erin) Loy of Granger, Joshua (Erin) Loy of Ft. Collins, CO, Nathan (Beth) Shilling of Centerville, Nicolas (Jami) Shilling of Centerville and Ryan Shilling of Wheat Ridge, CO; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Jean Stevens of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Tripp
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Willard St. United Methodist Church with Rev. Leila Disburg officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
