Hoarding dog case found in Ottumwa

Another case of animal hoarding came to light in Ottumwa Wednesday afternoon.

In today’s edition of the Ottumwa Courier its reported officials responded to a house at 210 North Sheridan after a routine follow up investigation.

Jeff Williams the city animal control officer says officers found large amounts of animal waste and a strong smell of ammonia coming from the house. In addition the city’s inspection department placarded the house due to conditions………preventing anyone from living in the house.

Williams says charges are pending against Mark Teater owner of the dogs. In addition Williams says many of the dogs have been turned over to the Heartland Humane Society.
