Deputies Make Arrest in Blakesburg Burglaries

By Nick Davis, September 21, 2017

Wapello County Sheriffs Deputies have made an arrest in a burglary investigation we first told you about on September 2nd.

Blakesburg’s C-Store had been burglarized multiple times, according to a press release by Chief Deputy Don Phillips.

“Throughout the course of the separate investigation(s) Law Enforcement personnel had reason to believe the same individual had committed both burglaries at the C-Store. During the burglaries the main items stole were a large quantity of cigarettes,” Phillips said.

Deputies arrested 35-year-old Amber Kelsey on September 18th, charging her with 3rd degree Burglary, a class D felony.

Kelsey remains in the Wapello County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Deputies say that additional charges are pending.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
