Bloomfield May Move Council Meetings

By Ellis Codjoe, April 13, 2018

At Thursday’s meeting, the city council passed the third reading of an ordinance (by a 4-1 vote) that would allow them to change the venue of the city council meetings, The Bloomfield Democrat reports. The meetings are currently being held at City Hall.

The Bloomfield Public Library has been under consideration as the new location for the city council meetings. The library features more space and the ability to live stream the meetings. At the end of each city council meeting, the council will decide where to have the next meeting.

Bloomfield mayor Dan Weigand has gone on record opposing the move and may veto the measure at a later date. However, the city council can override his veto with a 4-1 vote.
